Generate Transformation Tasks

Step type: Simple user interface.

Step description: Depending on the data transformation scenario, this step generates execution tasks of different types. These tasks control the flow of the data transformation at the table level. For more information, see the chapter Transformation Scenarios.

NOTE This step also generates the required tasks on the target system via RFC. Therefore, you can only execute it after defining the RFC destination and copying the setup to the target system.

Detailed functions: The following parameters are available:

  • Tables: Allows you to restrict the generation of tasks to specific tables.

NOTE A restriction to specific tables requires expert knowledge. All active tables must have all the required tasks generated.
  • Only add new tasks: Use this option to only generate missing tasks without changing the previously generated tasks, for example when a new table is added.

  • Re-generate existing tasks: Use this option to delete the previously generated tasks and generate them again.

WARNING Deleting any of the transformation tasks (read, beam, delete or insert) will delete the data in the respective cluster table and therefore might cause inconsistent transformation results or a data loss.
